LTO Cancels Angkas CEO George Royeca’s Driver’s License Following Cainta Traffic Violation

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has officially revoked George Royeca’s driver’s license, CEO of motorcycle ride-hailing service Angkas, in connection with a traffic incident in Cainta, Rizal. The decision came after a viral video showed Royeca allegedly disregarding traffic rules, which sparked public criticism.

According to the LTO, Royeca’s license was canceled under Republic Act 4136 (Land Transportation and Traffic Code) for reckless driving and obstructing traffic flow. The agency emphasized that no one, regardless of status, is exempt from traffic laws. Royeca’s license will remain suspended for six months, and he must complete a road safety seminar before reapplying.

Royeca publicly apologized, acknowledging his mistake and stating he is cooperating with authorities to address the issue. The incident has reignited discussions about road discipline and accountability among public figures.

Angkas, in a statement, reiterated its commitment to promoting safe riding practices and compliance with transportation regulations.
